Job DescriptionJob Description

Job Summary:

Document preparation and scanning of historically significant books and records, Microfiche, Ability to work in a team environment and do repetitive tasks. Must be able to follow defined processes and have laser focus for detail and meet production goals. Hired as Level 1 scanner offers opportunity to advance to Level 3 based on performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • On-site document and film scanning, including but not limited to: moving and tracking originals to/from storage and scanning areas, using scanning equipment to image loose sheets, bound books, large maps, film, and similar items.
  • Inventory tracking and indexing of original documents. Duties may also include file lookups using an electronic document management system.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

High School or equivalent. Scanning/digitizing of records experience is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges.
  • Must be reliable and responsible with a high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use a computer and software like Excel, Word, MS Teams and learn Avenu internal production systems proficiently.

Work Environment:

  • You will be working in our customer’s County Building and must wear business casual clothes. Always conduct yourself in a professional manner as you are representing Avenu.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual workstation, using telephone and computer

Physical Demands:

  • Lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
  • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
  • The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
