We are seeking a dedicated and experienced HR and Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring the health and safety of our employees while supporting various HR functions and maintaining regulatory compliance. Hours are 7:00am-3:00pm Mon-Fri, pays $22-$30hr, includes full benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement comprehensive health and safety programs, including overseeing safety committees and conducting safety training sessions.
  • Organize and maintain the company’s Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
  • Investigate workplace accidents, prepare detailed accident reports, and implement corrective actions in consultation with Departmental Heads.
  • Inspect and maintain First Aid Kits and AEDs, and coordinate with relevant vendors.
  • Conduct annual hearing tests and blood lead testing.
  • Update Worker’s Compensation and DART records.
  • Manage Hazardous Waste and Wastewater Permits.
  • Report Worker’s Compensation claims to the insurance provider.
  • Complete and maintain all OSHA logs and forms, such as OSHA Form 300.
  • Issue Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) sets and provide necessary training on their use.
  • Administer and monitor FMLA and Worker’s Compensation claims.
  • Professionally represent the company in dealings with customers, governmental agencies (including OSHA), and third-party administrators.
  • Conduct safety orientations for new hires.
  • Coordinate new hire uniforms and organize orientations for Safety, Cell Coordinator, HR, and Quality departments.

HR Support:

  • Track attendance and prepare disciplinary notices as needed.
  • Provide backup support for data collection and approvals.
  • Conduct I9 verifications for new employees.
  • Coordinate new hire and termination checklists.
  • Maintain and update shop floor job descriptions.
  • Oversee janitorial services and manage supplies.
  • Handle various HR tasks, including maintaining the HR hours calendar, tracking employee work hours, conducting the annual MRA shop wage survey, updating the organizational chart, entering vacation slips on the calendar, and making birthday announcements.
