Job DescriptionJob DescriptionAssociated Supermarket Group (ASG) has an excellent opportunity for a Collection Specialist.  Working as a member of the Collections Team in the Finance Department the Collections Specialist will be responsible for maintaining a healthy Account Receivable, while monitoring and securing payment of past due receivables.  They will also be responsible for maintaining vendor relations and records of contacts and communications. Type: Full-Time Location: Hybrid – 3 days in office, Port Washington, NY; 2 days virtual work. Duties and responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain client accounts regularly to identify past due accounts.
  • Contact customers regarding their outstanding invoices to ensure collection of payments.  
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date collection records and documentation.
  • Generating BI-Weekly A/R statements.
  • Assist the controller in preparation of weekly cash projections.
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the controller to review client accounts and collections activities.
  • Work closely with the A/R team to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cash application. 
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, understanding their needs and addressing any concerns related to collections.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
  • 3 years of collection and customer support experience.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written, listening) and communication skills.
  • Must be extremely well organized with outstanding attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a group.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Vlookup, Pivot Tables, Tables.
  • Experience with Sage 300 accounting software a plus.
 Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $55,000 and $62,500 per annum.
