Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Purpose: The Admissions Recruiter is responsible for identifying, informing, motivating, involving, and getting prospective students to invest in the University through recruiting techniques and skills helping students to move forward in their pursuit to become a Naturopathic Doctor as well as other university programs. The Recruiter position is responsible for the front-end initial inquiry experience with a candidate to encourage them to send in a student’s transcripts for an evaluation into the ND program.. Student Recruiters plan, implement, and evaluates new and continuing recruitment activities to recruit targeted groups of students. Provides detailed admission information and services to prospective students and next steps.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Acquires and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of Sonoran University’s mission, history, degree programs, admission policy and application procedures, and the naturopathic medical profession.
  • Represents Sonoran University in local, state and regional events as assigned. These include, but are not limited to, undergraduate college visitations, local and regional graduate and career fairs, and health career programs.
  • Travels/visits in-state and/or out-of-state target schools, agencies, and conferences to meet with prospective students, counselors, or administrators. Discusses university program offerings and answers questions concerning curriculum, enrollment procedures and student life.
  • Performs outbound calls to prospective students who have inquired about Sonoran University and answer questions about student life, community, and the admissions process.
  • Identify prospective students that would benefit in moving forward to the next step of the admissions process of encouraging potential candidates to send in their transcripts for evaluation with an Admissions Representative.
  • Generate correspondence through various means (call, text, emails) to priority students supplying them with requested information and personalized contact.
  • Disseminates informational material to inquiries and prospective students such as admission, housing, etc. and assists student’s transcripts and evaluation of admissions process next steps in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for various activities and on and off campus recruitment events including AANMC Naturopathic forums, New Student Orientation, high school outreach programs, Interview Days and Student for a Day activities.
  • Cultivates student prospect pool resulting from assigned office phone time and data entrance of records and notes,
  • Attendance at assigned recruitment events, on-campus programs such as Open Houses, or other activities as assigned by the Director. This cultivation includes a broad range of follow-up activities, including phone and written correspondence, tele-marketing projects, coordinating and communicating the flow of information to students from key University offices, such as Financial Aid, Student Life and Academic Affairs, in an effort to assure the highest yield possible at each stage of the prospect to the enrolled student.
  • Attends regularly scheduled Admission Staff meetings and other appropriate meetings as required by committee assignments.
  • Maintains a weekly report of activities, including phone and written correspondence, visitations, on-campus programs, interviews, applications and other relevant information required by the Admissions Office.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Knowledge of academic institutions
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of recruiting and/or retention
  • Proficiency in oral and written communication
  • Strong interpersonal and public relations skills
  • Ability to work independently with good judgment
  • Detail-oriented and organizational skills
  • Computer proficient (MS Office Suite)
  • Up to 20% travel required
  • Ability to carry marketing materials while traveling (50 lbs)
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, Marketing, Psychology, Communication, Business Administration, etc. or a related field
  • Knowledge and experience working in Salesforce and or other CRM tools
  • One year experience in admissions, recruitment, or retention desired
  • Or, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills both in-person and through email and virtual communication tools (Teams, Zoom, Slack etc.).

Hybrid working environment, with flexibility depending on the office's demands and the academic calendar cycles.
