Position Summary

This role involves providing support for student services programs, which encompasses admissions and records, academic advisement, cashiering, general financial aid assistance, and clerical duties. The specialist will deliver customer support by processing records requests and maintaining procedural and program information for students and the educational community. This position serves a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students, and the general public, primarily working at the front counter in the One-Stop Center.

Key Responsibilities

1. **Information and Assistance**: Assist students with admissions procedures and processes, performing clerical and administrative tasks related to program and student records requests such as transcripts, registration, schedules, and applications. Verify program eligibility and maintain accurate documentation.
2. **Academic Advisement**: Provide academic and career advisement support for new, continuing, and prospective students, including information on program and degree requirements. Update student records as necessary.
3. **Fiscal Transactions**: Conduct routine fiscal transaction work, including maintaining records, processing transactions, and data entry. Monitor accounts payable and receivable, and update fiscal records.
4. **Financial Aid Support**: Review student files for accuracy and completeness, assist with financial aid applications, and provide guidance on financial aid and scholarship processes.
5. **Special Projects**: Participate in special projects and presentations related to academic advisement, admissions, records, and registration. Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from an accredited institution, with one (1) year of full-time experience in student services or related fields, or a High School Diploma/GED with three (3) years of equivalent experience.

Desired Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree
2. Recent experience in Higher Education in a student service role.
3. Knowledge of Federal and State aid regulations and student financial aid guidelines.
4. Customer service experience within the last 24 months.
5. Familiarity with various computer software systems.
6. Experience handling confidential records.

Special Working Conditions

May require travel to various locations, evening or weekend hours, and prolonged periods of computer use. A valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required.
