Successful and growing law firm located in Southfield seeks a litigation paralegal to join our dynamic team.  The successful candidate will  provide legal and administrative support to supervising attorneys.  Position duties revolve around completing routine tasks of a legal nature that would otherwise be handled by an attorney.

Job Duties

  • Ability to perform entry-level research and analysis of law sources such as statutes, court rules, judicial decisions, legal articles, and legal codes utilizing Lexis or law library.
  • Investigates and gathers facts / law of case and reports results to supervising attorney.
  • Prepares routine legal documents and correspondence.
  • Reviews and analyzes documents related to case, maintenance of documents in case file or document management system.
  • May have routine client reporting responsibilities.
  • Intermediate-level computer skills; familiarity with software programs such as Power Point, Adobe Pro, PerfectLaw, Lexis.
  • Moderate level client interaction.
  • May assist with law library maintenance.
  • Additional duties as assigned by supervising attorney or firm administrator.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal Certificate from ABA approved school or bachelor’s degree.
  • Strong analytical abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills, data entry skills, and attention to detail.
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
