Our core services encompass downsizing, packing, unpacking, organizing, staging, conducting estate sales, and space organization. We serve a diverse clientele, including seniors, hoarders, moving families, and other vulnerable populations.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven Business Development Professional to join our leadership team and help us expand our market presence.
Position Overview: We are seeking a proactive and results-oriented Business Development Professional to identify new referral opportunities through networking, build and maintain relationships with referral agents, consult with prospective clients, and create custom proposals tailored to their needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales and business development, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- This position will be part of the leadership team and will attend weekly meetings. The successful candidate will emulate our internal team values: Accountability, Authenticity, Empathy, Collaboration and Optimism
Key Responsibilities:
- Networking and Relationship Building:
- Identify and network with potential referral agents and partners to generate new business leads.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing referral agents to ensure a steady flow of referrals.
- Identify and attend industry events, conferences, and networking functions to promote the company and expand professional connections.
- Client Consultation and Engagement:
- Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients to understand their needs and identify potential solutions.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients regarding the unique transition concerns and needs they have.
- Build trust and rapport with clients through effective communication and follow-up.
- Develop custom estimates and present professional statement of work documents for prospective clients using Canva.
- Track and follow up with prospective clients to improve win rate.
- Market Research and Analysis:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges.
- Analyze competitor activities and market conditions to inform business development strategies.
- Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on business development activities and outcomes.
- Branding and Communications:
- Conduct regular audits of the website and social media channels to ensure they are optimized for performance.
o Regularly track and analyze website traffic, social media engagement, and other digital metrics.
o Generate and present reports on digital performance, highlighting key insights and areas for improvement.
o Create, design, and update marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, and digital content.
o Develop compelling presentation materials for internal and external use, ensuring brand consistency.
o Create weekly Estate Sale Newsletter
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or a related role.
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
- Professional communication, presentation, writing and listening skills.
- Skilled in the use of Canva for content development
- Proficient in using CRM software, MS Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and a results-driven mindset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Personal transportation for travel within the Portland/Vancouver area.
- Respect for clients and their lifestyles.

Our Culture: At Changing Places, we work tirelessly to support clients during their transitions. We seek team members who are equally dedicated to helping others, radiate optimism, and believe in making workdays enjoyable.
· This position requires a home office setup and involves travel to events, client homes, and team gatherings. A travel stipend is available. Compensation will start hourly, with the potential to transition to a salary based on time commitment. The role is initially expected to require 32-40 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Wage range based on experience: $22-$28 / hour.
