AquaPhoenix Scientific is seeking an experienced self-motivated, Key Accounts Manager – Education with expertise in sustaining growth, business cultivation, and developing new and existing client relationships in an industry related to the education/STEM markets. The Account Executive plays a critical role in managing client accounts, driving sales, and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders. Internal communications are equally important in this role, having a focus on helping to coordinate expectations with production planning, timelines, and procurement of supplies.

Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:

The ideal candidates for the Key Accounts Manager – Education position will have a passion for STEM based education with a proven work history as an Account Executive, Sales Executive, or relevant role. Must be accurate, highly organized, able to make sound decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Although not all inclusive, additional responsibilities, expectations and skills will include:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts to achieve long-term success.
  • Generate new business using existing and potential customer networks.
  • Resolve conflicts and provide solutions to clients in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to meet sales and customer project goals.
  • Report on the status of accounts and transactions.
  • Set and track sales account targets, aligned with company objectives.
  • Monitor sales metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
  • Suggest actions to improve sales performance and identify opportunities for growth.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of industry products and services.
  • Meet regularly with internal teams to discuss project progress and find new ways to improve business and processes.
  • Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services.


Desired Skills, Education, and Knowledge:

AquaPhoenix Scientific considers applicants with diverse backgrounds, education, and work experience; however, applicants for the Key Accounts Manager – Education position will frequently have a combined education and/or work experience that is a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or, or related field equivalent and 3-5 years’ work experience of sales experience.

Additional characteristics and skills include but are not limited to:

  • Must have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding customer expectations and/or receiving positive customer feedback.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce/HubSpot)
  • Familiarity with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts)
  • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales, or relevant field. Ability to deliver engaging presentations and product demonstrations
  • Great communication skills along with leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Capacity to travel to customer locations, trade shows, and other business needs with little advance notice, using various forms of transportation.
  • High degree of attention to detail.
