RESPOND, Inc. is hiring a Manager of Early Educational Services. This position directly oversees the Intake Unit, Family Worker Unit, Health Coordinator, and the Food Program to ensure high quality services are provided to children and families. This is an Exempt, full time position, regular hours are 8:30am-4:30pm, with weekends and evenings as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Duties include, but are not limited to the following key activities:

  • Oversee in a supervisory capacity the Intake Unit, Family Worker Unit, Health Coordinator, and Food Program.
  • Understand, interpret and implement federal, state and agency rules and regulations to ensure adequate systems are in place to maintain high quality services to children and families in compliance with Federal and State Performance Standards.
  • Review and analyze data and reports to assess that each component is aligned with the program’s readiness goals; and prepare to initiate preventative measures if any problems appear.
  • Design and monitor an internal education audit program to ensure compliance of the Intake, Family Worker, Health, and Food Program mandates.
  • Monitor the implementation of the responsibilities of employees through monthly supervisory meetings, team meetings, and review of files and documentation.
  • Read management and leadership materials and program-related materials to keep abreast of developments in comprehensive early childhood programs.
  • Provide feedback to Center Directors for the overall integration, direction, coordination and evaluation between the Units and Early Learning Centers.
  • Builds key relationships with external partners, consultants, vendors, licensing agents, school and community leaders, parents, program directors and community stakeholders.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the agency policies and applicable laws
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning, directing work, rewarding, disciplining employees, performance reviews, and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with the Director of Early Care and Education to ensure effective overall program oversight.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars as needed to continue professional development.
  • Model the Code of Conduct Policy when interacting with parents, community members and colleagues.
  • Ensures that operations meet agency, federal, state and local requirements, including licensing, accreditation, contractual, and other standards.
  • Directs and ensures professional training plan incorporates topics specific to each program service for both staff and parent meetings.
  • Trains staff and builds ongoing support for the implementation of agreed upon processes and procedures.
  • Perform other duties assigned.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Manage multiple projects and follow-through on tasks.
  • Proficiency in preparing accurate reports, analyzing data and interpreting information.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, interdisciplinary environment and with diverse community-based agencies.
  • Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
  • Proficient with computer applications – i.e., thorough understanding of Microsoft Outlook, word processing (Microsoft Word), spreadsheets (Microsoft Excel), databases, e-mail systems (Microsoft Office required), Power Point and the ability to learn and master other computer technology/software programs as needed.
  • Ability to appropriately manage confidential information.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to understand, support, and comply with organizational policies.
  • Willingness and ability to be flexible with hours in order to carry out the responsibilities of the position.

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED with 5 years of administrative experience; or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent field from an accredited institution, with at least two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of early childhood education program experience required
