JOB DESCRIPTION:
As a Music Educator, you will provide comprehensive music instruction and educational support to students across various grade levels.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collaborate with fellow educators to identify students' musical needs and develop tailored instructional plans.
  • Gather relevant information to create and implement individualized music education strategies for students.
  • Maintain effective communication with school administration and parents to ensure the success of music programs.
  • Adhere to established protocols for notifying the administration of any expected or unexpected absences.
  • Deliver direct music instruction, including the teaching of various instruments and vocal techniques.
  • Provide specialized music education services as needed, including group and individual lessons.
  • Document all educational activities thoroughly and accurately in accordance with school policies.
  • Compile necessary reports for departmental and state requirements before scheduled deadlines.
  • Assist in the implementation of health and safety policies within the music department.
  • Support the development of health education programs as directed by the administration.
  • Perform music education duties within the scope of practice as defined by the Alabama Department of Education.
  • Conduct assessments and screenings as directed by the administration.
  • Act as a liaison between the school, families, and the community regarding music education initiatives.
  • Report any concerns related to student welfare or safety to the appropriate authorities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy in all educational matters.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the music department as assigned.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current certification in music education.
  • Experience in teaching music to school-aged children is preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Must hold a current CPR certification (this may be obtained after employment).
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in private music instruction may be considered.
