Position Overview

ABOUT RESPOND, INC.: Respond, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the economic independence and overall welfare of individuals and families in the community. Our mission is carried out through comprehensive services in early learning centers and programs aimed at supporting homeless adults. We believe in "Empowerment through Early Education".

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking dedicated Board of Education (Abbott) Teachers for our Prekindergarten classrooms located in our North Camden Centers. These are full-time, salaried roles with 7-hour shifts from Monday to Friday.

BONUS STRUCTURE: Eligible for a $2,000 bonus after the first 3 months of employment, followed by an additional $1,000 after completing the first 5 months.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE:

  • Annual salary ranging from $54,272 to $89,972, based on experience
  • 10-month employment period

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver engaging and content-rich instruction that prepares students to thrive in a global economy.
  • Act as a classroom leader, providing exceptional educational experiences that enable all students to achieve academic success.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure comprehensive support and services for all students.
  • Monitor student achievement data to inform instructional strategies.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students to enhance their academic performance.
  • Enforce classroom rules and consequences consistently.
  • Evaluate student progress in alignment with district goals and communicate findings to families.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring students meet academic standards.
  • Incorporate technology effectively into lesson plans.
  • Maintain open communication with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Participate actively in professional development and team meetings.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with special educational needs.
  • Exhibit flexibility and resilience in various situations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
  • P-3 certification required
  • CE/CEAS certification required, or enrollment in a Provisional Teacher Program (PTP)
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working with children
  • Completion of a criminal history background check, physical examination, and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods within the classroom.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
  • Capability to sit and stand on the floor throughout the day, and to bend, kneel, or squat to engage with children at their level.
