Role Summary:

TEAM Management Services (www.teamemployer.com) is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join and support our rapidly growing company. This role is responsible for supporting the corporate staff with human resources, compliance, and people-focused initiatives. The ideal candidate is team focused, dependable, and organized. This is an individual contributor role reporting directly to the Senior People Operations Manager.

What you will do:

  • Serve as the primary HR point of contact for our corporate team and respond to inquiries timely and with a high level of customer service.
  • Manage all employee onboarding tasks - run background checks, prepare new hire documents, collect I9 information, initiate Everify, and coordinate overall onboarding schedule.
  • Manage employee files to ensure employee documentation is up to date and well organized.
  • Assist with compliance training, and oversee employee acknowledgment and follow-ups.
  • Maintain employee headcount lists and reports. Pull ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Respond to employment verification requests and state unemployment requests.
  • Prepare details for bi-week payroll for corporate staff.
  • Assist with administration of employee leave of absences.
  • Partner with Senior People Operations Manager to ensure TEAM complies with local, state, and federal employment requirements such as wage and hour, required training including anti-harassment, job descriptions, employee handbook, and other TEAM policies.
  • Manage W2, 1095, EEO-1, and state-specific reporting requirements.
  • Assist with special projects, reports and activities, and other duties as assigned.

This role is based in California. The California pay range for this position is $66,650 to $75,000 annually. Compensation is based on several factors including but not limited to the applicant’s skills, work experience, knowledge, abilities, education, etc. Note that this range may not apply to employees based outside of California.

Requirements

  • Two to three years of progressive, professional human resources experience or equivalent, preferably with multi-state employees.
  • Bachelor’s degree and PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Strong project management and time management skills and demonstrate resourcefulness. Able to navigate competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment to deliver results.
  • Extremely high accountability, organization, and leadership.
  • Strong interpersonal instincts and emotional intelligence; ability to quickly build trusted relationships within the team and with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong professional presence, including all written / oral communications.
  • Exercises good judgment and discretion to proactively research and escalate issues.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and able to learn and navigate other internal software systems quickly and efficiently.
