Summary

Northshire Day School is seeking a full-time coordinator for our Family Tree Program. The Family Tree Program is built on the strengths-based philosophy of the Strengthening Families
framework and the protective factors. The Family Tree Program promotes strong families and healthy development for children prenatally through age five, provides resources, service coordination and support to help all families thrive during everyday circumstances as well as persevere during times of stress or crisis. The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will recruit and enroll families in the Family Tree Program, provide services and support as needed and will engage, support and partner with families in building key protective factors. The FTC will implement a continuum of formal and informal prevention and intervention strategies to reach all children and families.

The NDS Family Tree Coordinator is a highly motivated self-starter, excited to design and build upon the Family Tree Program – a visionary, a doer and a collaborator.

Duties

The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will provide direct services to families and staff offering support, conducting assessments, setting goals, establishing regular contact, monitoring progress and promoting family engagement in NDS activities and special events. The FTC will support the program's philosophy and mission, implement the Strengthening Families framework and support our NDS classrooms. The FTC will coordinate with community partners, maintain a community resource guide, assist families in accessing services, identify gaps, and coordinate community outreach such as parenting classes and playgroups. The FTC will coordinate the annual assessment, maintain and monitor outcomes data and be a visible leader in our NDS community.

Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a Bachelor of Science / Arts in a related field of study. MSW or LICSW preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience working with children and families providing family support and service coordination. Experience managing and recognizing potential crisis situations, understanding of de-escalation techniques. Deep knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children ages zero to five.
Expertise in the Strengthening Families model and protective factors.
Experience in working with teams of education professionals and other service providers.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Possess a strong knowledge of G suite and MS Office including the ability to create and work with database programs and write reports.
Strong sense of integrity, ethics, confidentiality, reliability and accountability.
