Position Summary
Northshire Day School is in search of a dedicated full-time coordinator for our Family Tree Program. This initiative is grounded in the strengths-based approach of the Strengthening Families framework, focusing on protective factors that foster resilience.
The Family Tree Program is designed to nurture strong families and support healthy development for children from prenatal stages through age five. It offers resources, service coordination, and assistance to empower families to thrive in daily life and navigate challenges during stressful times.
The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will be responsible for recruiting and enrolling families into the program, delivering necessary services and support, and actively engaging with families to cultivate essential protective factors.
The FTC will implement a range of formal and informal prevention and intervention strategies aimed at reaching all children and families effectively.
Key Responsibilities
The Family Tree Coordinator (FTC) will provide direct support to families and staff, offering assistance, conducting assessments, setting objectives, maintaining regular communication, monitoring progress, and encouraging family participation in activities and events.
The FTC will uphold the program's philosophy and mission, implement the Strengthening Families framework, and support the classrooms at Northshire Day School.
The FTC will collaborate with community partners, maintain a comprehensive community resource guide, assist families in accessing necessary services, identify service gaps, and coordinate community outreach efforts such as parenting workshops and playgroups.
The FTC will oversee the annual assessment, track and analyze outcomes data, and serve as a prominent leader within the Northshire Day School community.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field is required. An MSW or LICSW is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience working with children and families in providing support and service coordination. Proven experience in managing and identifying potential crisis situations, along with a solid understanding of de-escalation techniques. In-depth knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for children aged zero to five is essential.
Expertise in the Strengthening Families model and protective factors is required.
Experience collaborating with educational professionals and other service providers is necessary.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail are crucial.
Proficiency in G Suite and MS Office is required, including the ability to create and manage database programs and generate reports. A strong sense of integrity, ethics, confidentiality, reliability, and accountability is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
MSW or LICSW
Professional proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
