This position reports directly to the Company CFO with dotted line responsibility to the President/COO of Park Aerospace Corp.

The Controller will provide financial information to key level management of Park Aerospace Corp. Under the general direction of the CFO, the individual will oversee all operations in connection with financial matters including accounts receivable and payable, production, inventory, billing, collections, payroll, and auditing. Responsibilities further include the training and supervision of all department staff; developing and initiating systems, policies and procedures for transacting financial matters, and ensuring that the financial system is accurate, efficient and in accordance with professional accounting practices, governmental regulations and Company policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Managerial accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong cost accounting skills
  • Must have experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, payroll, income tax, and banking
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining strong internal controls
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Must possess a high degree of proficiency and accuracy in handling detail information and ensure timely processing of the information
  • High reasoning capability required. Must be able to assess any situation quickly and make sound decisions based on limited information. Must possess the ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Candidate must be computer literate with experience in using accounting software, (Oracle a plus) spreadsheet packages and word processing applications

Education/Experience/Skills Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance, five to seven years experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Computer literate with experience in using accounting software (Oracle 11i a plus), spreadsheet packages and word processing applications. Strong cost and budgeting background required.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills required
  • Strong Manufacturing experience AND Public Accounting experience required

Physical Requirements

  • Individual required to be sighted (can be medically corrected), with clear verbal and written communications skills. Job includes lifting of product/supplies ranging from minimal to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Individual will be required to be mobile, with bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and crouching.

Training Requirements

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills required.
