The Authorization Specialist assists the agencies in the important role of validating patient eligibility from the beginning and throughout their care journey, while also ensuring necessary payor authorization is obtained for home care services.

What you will be doing:

  • Verify insurance eligibility and authorization for home health clients accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate payer authorization and eligibility information to team members and branch management
  • Enter insurance authorization and eligibility details into relevant systems, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with payer requirements for client authorizations and services provided.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive customer and company information while performing duties as a home health authorization specialist.

What we're looking for in you:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in insurance authorization, billing, business administration.
  • At least one year of Home Health care experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of third party payer regulations including Medicare, Managed Medicare Care,
  • Understanding of Veterans Affairs (VA) and private insurance.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to make appropriate judgements as it relates to the payer authorization process.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Including Teams, Word, and Excel
