Hiring Range: $22.00 - $29.00/hr. DOE

Primary Function of Position

As the Refugee Foster Care Case Management Supervisor, you will supervise the case management team within the Refugee Foster Care Program. Your role includes providing guidance, support, and oversight to ensure effective service delivery. You will collaborate with foster care staff, monitor case progress, and ensure compliance with program policies and procedures. Additionally, you will facilitate training and development for case managers to enhance their skills and effectiveness in supporting refugee youth and foster families.


Major Position Responsibilities

  1. Team Supervision: Overall responsibility for the job performance of the case management team. Provides supervision with fairness, competence, and professionalism.
  2. Compliance Assurance: Ensure that case management is provided to the refugee youth in compliance with regulations governing the program. Available for consultation on all cases and can serve as a mediator when necessary.
  3. Case Distribution: Ensure cases are distributed equitably to case managers based on refugee needs, case manager skills, and staff workloads.
  4. Report Management: Ensure all required reports regarding case management are completed in a timely manner and correctly, including court reports, ORR reports, and service plans.
  5. File Audits: Schedule audits of case files on a regular basis to ensure compliance with regulations governing the program.
  6. Staff Development: Hire and provide necessary training to enhance the skills and abilities of the case management team.
  7. Supervisory Meetings: Conduct one-on-one supervisory meetings with all direct reports at least once a month.
  8. Supervisory Role: Act in a supervisory role, including developing and guiding staff, reviewing referrals, confirming arrival dates, assigning new cases, and addressing any legal issues.
  9. Policy Development: Assist the program manager in policy development as needed.
  10. Meeting Participation: Participate in weekly staff meetings and facilitate monthly case management meetings.
  11. Policy Adherence: Adhere to organization policies and procedures.
  12. Quality Improvement: Demonstrate a commitment to quality improvement and implementation of best practices.
  13. Other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  1. This position is in a professional office environment using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
  2. Responsibilities may also occur at foster homes, community events, and other locations as needed.
  3. Some local travel may be required.

Physical Demands

  1. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand, as necessary.
  2. This role includes driving locally.

Education, Training, and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field or equivalent experience.
  2. Supervisory experience.
  3. Familiar with and supportive of the mission of Catholic Community Services of Utah and the vision of the Catholic Church articulated by the diocesan bishop.
  4. Experience with multi-cultural and refugee communities.
  5. At least one year of case management experience, preferably with unaccompanied refugee minors.

Background Screening Requirement

  1. Must pass a national BCI/FBI background check.

Licenses, certifications, and credentials

  1. Current Utah driver's license, proof of auto insurance with minimum policy liability limits of $50,000 per person and $100,000 per incident, 21 years of age or older, a clean driving record, and ability to meet CCS vehicle safety requirements.

Position status and expected schedule

  1. This position is scheduled to work an average of 40 hours per week between Monday and Friday between 8 AM - 9 PM.
  2. This position will also participate in a rotating on-call schedule over the weekends.
