As a key contributor to the strategy and growth of Vanguard Personalized Indexing (VPI) this VPI expert will:

  • Partner with Vanguard’s Advisor and VPI Sales teams to drive adoption of VPI by new clients.
  • Deepen relationships with Vanguard Personalized Indexing clients (financial advisors) through education and support with direct indexing use cases, strategy development, and ongoing portfolio needs.
  • Leverage industry experience and competitive knowledge to drive ongoing growth of the VPI product and organization, liaising with Sales, Client Service, Marketing, and Product teams.

In this role you will:

  • Serve as the “advisor to the advisor” through an expert knowledge of Vanguard Personalized Indexing methodology, and an exceptional ability to articulate the value of Direct Indexing/Personalized Indexing to clients.
  • In close partnership with Sales, co-manage and deepen relationship with VPI clients through Personalized Indexing portfolio analysis and construction, ongoing expansion of advisor use cases and adoption, and solutions for intricate end-investor needs.
  • Exhibit deep financial acumen; be an expert on direct indexing/personalized indexing and factor strategies.
  • Consult on the design of custom Vanguard Personalized Indexing strategies and portfolios.
  • Work closely with other client facing teams (e.g., Sales, Client Service, ESG analysts), and Portfolio Management to deliver an exceptional experience to clients throughout their Personalized Indexing journey with Vanguard.
  • Provide guidance, support, and coaching to other Vanguard Personalized Indexing crew interacting with large or complex clients. Assist in the strengthening of at-risk relationships.
  • Resolve complex client issues related to products, services, or processes. Drive improvements to meet evolving client needs and expectations.
  • Leverage industry experience to determine cross-functional solutions to complex client needs.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years related work experience. Five years in Direct indexing / Personalized Indexing, SMA, and Sales/Relationship Management strongly preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of direct indexing/personalized indexing competitive landscape.
  • Knowledge of portfolio optimization, performance attribution analytics a plus
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Graduate degree and/or advanced investment designation (CFA) preferred.
  • This job requires a regulatory license and/or registration (e.g. FINRA, state, SFC). These will be determined by Compliance based on role-specific duties.
  • FINRA Series 65 or 66, or ability to acquire within department guidelines is required.
