Company Description

Vivtex is a fast-paced pre-clinical stage biotech company located in Cambridge, MA. We strive to transform oral drug delivery using a revolutionary proprietary technology (developed in the laboratory of Professor Robert Langer at MIT) that enables high throughput screening with fully intact and functional GI tissue. We are a tight-knit interdisciplinary team that develops better and safer oral therapeutics in close collaboration with major global pharmaceutical companies.


Job Description:

We are currently seeking a highly motivated, driven, and collaborative Research Associate with background in pharmacology, chemistry, biomedical engineering or related fields to contribute to the company’s R&D program. The chosen candidate must possess an outstanding track record that demonstrates a proven ability to drive research progress, including the ability to independently design, implement, and troubleshoot experiments and effectively present results and research plans.



Responsibilities will involve laboratory and operational roles, including:

  • GI tissue dissection and procurement.
  • Conduct various biological assays.
  • Generate oral drug formulations for testing.
  • Conduct complex high throughput screening experiments.
  • Operate high throughput equipment such as liquid handlers.
  • Scientific writing and presentation.
  • Maintain a clean and functional lab.


Required Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. in pharmacology, chemistry, biomedical engineering or related fields.
  • Previous relevant wet-lab research experience.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Highly collaborative and self-driven.
  • Valid US driving license.


Additional desired but not essential qualifications:

  • Expertise in oral drug delivery.
  • Experience in using R, Python or other relevant applications for data analysis.
  • Previous experience in various biological techniques.
  • Experience in high throughput screening.
