Information Technology Infrastructure Specialist

Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Information & Technology, the incumbent supports the planning, monitoring, and configuring of installation of low voltage cabling, alarm systems, security camera systems, networking and fiber optics for JT Logistics and any associated companies or subsidiaries. The duties of the job holder include maintaining, configuring, and installing these systems.


Supervisory Responsibility:

The job holder directly supervises multiple people within the implementation team.


Essential Job Functions:

Cabling (25%)

Runs various cabling to industry standards including but not limited to ethernet, wired alarm cabling, and fiber

Utilize various devices and equipment to install cabling such as crimpers, scissor lifts, ladders, boom lifts, etc.

Test existing cabling and verify connectivity


Burglary Alarm Systems (15%)

Install, configure, maintain Burglary Alarm Systems across the enterprise.

Consult and assist manufacturers’ representatives with installation of equipment

Install cabling for all necessary systems


Video Surveillance Systems (15%)

Install, configure, maintain Video Surveillance Systems across the enterprise.

Consult and assist manufacturers’ representatives with installation of equipment

Install cabling for all necessary systems


Badge Access Systems (15%)

Install, configure, maintain Badge Access Systems across the enterprise.

Consult and assist manufacturers’ representatives with installation of equipment

Install cabling for all necessary systems


Supervision (30%)

Recruit, hire, and train Low Voltage Tech staff

Assign and prioritize tasks and duties on implementation projects

Plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance of Low Voltage Techs in a constructive and timely manner

Manage daily time tracking and approve/deny time off requests for subordinates

Coach, counsel, and discipline employees in accordance with company policy


Competencies:

Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing

Strong Attention to detail

Logical, systematic, and sequential problem-solving skills

Strong time management skills


Equipment:

Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, and hand tools


Safety:

Follow JT Logistics safety policies and procedures


Special Conditions of Employment:

  • Employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and drug screening
  • Frequent local and some overnight travel required


Qualifications:

  • 8 years of full-time work experience running low voltage cabling
  • 4 years of full-time work experience maintaining alarm systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
