InnovitUSA is in search of a skilled DevOps Engineer to enhance our dynamic software development team. This role focuses on critical applications and utilizes Agile methodologies to modernize our UI Tax system. The objective is to re-engineer components into state-of-the-art architecture and frameworks, improving service delivery for both agency personnel and end-users while preparing for future technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and operationalization of AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Act as an advocate for Cloud capabilities, collaborating across teams to design and implement user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
  • Develop, construct, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable AWS infrastructure utilizing AWS CDK.
  • Manage and configure various AWS services including EC2, EKS, ECR, Cognito, Lambda, RDS, S3, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Design and maintain service mesh solutions like Istio within EKS clusters.
  • Create unit and integration tests to ensure Infrastructure as Code (IaC) test coverage.
  • Establish and manage CI/CD pipelines for the automated deployment of infrastructure and applications.
  • Gather telemetry data and create dashboards, alerts, and notifications for insightful monitoring of cloud operations and application performance.
  • Monitor and resolve performance issues to ensure high availability and optimal service performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to enhance application performance and reliability in AWS environments.
  • Implement and uphold security best practices and compliance controls within AWS.

Required Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with AWS services such as EKS, ECR, S3, Lambda, and service mesh technologies like Istio, ensuring adequate test coverage.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or AWS CDK.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS Well-Architected Frameworks.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, including Typescript or Python.
  • Experience in building CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or GitHub Actions.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, SSL/TLS, etc.).
  • Strong grasp of security best practices in AWS environments.
  • Experience with configuration management and orchestration tools to ensure cloud environments meet operational and security standards.
  • Strong networking experience, including knowledge of AWS networking services (e.g., VPC, Subnets, Route 53).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
  • Experience with AWS CDK development.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Dynatrace.
  • Ability to quickly build Proofs of Concept (POCs) to showcase cloud capabilities and design user-friendly hybrid cloud environments.
