Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
Not a Remote Position. Applicants must be located in Phoenix, AZ or Houston, TX or be willing to relocate.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of BS degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Environment Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of design engineering with a focus on Water/Wastewater treatment.
- Passed the FE exam OR will take (and pass) the exam within 1 year.
NCS Engineers has added a full-time position for a Mechanical, Civil, or Environmental Project Engineer with experience in Water/Wastewater Treatment to join us as a Project Engineer in our Water/Wastewater treatment department at our Phoenix, AZ or Houston, TX locations. We are seeking an individual who is interested in being mentored by leaders in the Water/Wastwater treatment industry. Job Requirements
Expertise in the following
- Familiarity with water/wastewater treatment processes.
- Basic knowledge of civil, mechanical, piping and equipment design
- Basic knowledge of water and wastewater treatment design (filtration, chemical feed systems, solids handling, biological treatment and disinfection).
- CAD design ability and experience
- Ability to integrate design of overall facility with pumping system and storage tanks.
- Basic knowledge of material properties and corrosion
- Has the ability to travel, as required for projects, for start-up and other project needs.
- Organized and self-motivated, strong interpersonal communication skills required.
- Possess excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and available resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including detailed report preparation email, project documentation, etc.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Preferred skills
- Highly preferred, but not required: Knowledge of advanced treatment equipment such as MF, UF, NF, RO, and ceramic membranes, DAF, ozone, dewatering devices, chemical feed systems, etc.
- Ability to manage and work independently on design projects.
- Excellent computer, math, and English skills.
- Microsoft Project experience.
Responsibilities
- Specify, and design water/wastewater treatment, piping, and pumping systems, including facility and equipment layout, and coordination with other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare design reports for process design and hydraulic criteria for wastewater, advanced treatment (RO/UF/GAC/UV, etc.), and treatment residual handling systems projects as well as municipal water, groundwater, and biological wastewater treatment.projects.
- Keep department managers informed of progress on projects.
- Practice safe work practices by following all Company safety rules and OSHA regulations.
