The Community Engagement Specialist helps LCCU amplify our community impact and elevate our brand by I) leading our community-building efforts, II) managing our strategic community partnerships, III) managing our membership programs, IV) providing administrative support to the Latino Community Development Center (LCDC), LCCU’s field of membership.


Duties:

Community-Building

  • Strengthen LCCU’s roots and reach in the community by building strategic relationships and partnerships that help LCCU better meet the broader needs of our community.
  • Build and strengthen strategic relationships in the community that create pathways into LCCU for communities looking to access economic opportunity.
  • Identify and represent LCCU at community events and convenings to promote LCCU’s brand and mission and build and strengthen strategic relationships.
  • Deliver presentations and financial education workshops to LCCU members as well as to community partners and their constituents.
  • Support branch outreach strategies by creating materials and helping branch staff prepare for events.
  • Collect and prepare member impact stories (video, written profiles, testimonials).


Strategic Partnerships

  • Manage established strategic partnerships and programs with local and regional organizations that benefit LCCU’s members and the larger community.
  • Evaluate the efficacy of our partnerships by tracking and reporting their impact. Implement improvements as necessary.


Membership Programs

  • Manage LCCU’s Financial Education Program, a four-week series offered twice a year virtually and in person at each of LCCU’s branches. Manage the Program’s promotion, curriculum, enrollment, evaluation, and end-of-year graduation ceremony.
  • Manage LCCU’s Scholarship Program, which awards scholarships to LCCU members pursuing higher education. Manage the Program’s promotion, application review process, and end-of-year ceremony.
  • Support other LCCU programs, including savings initiatives, etc.
  • Evaluate programs, focusing on improving systems and processes.
  • Work closely with branch staff to promote, implement, and evaluate LCCU’s programs.


Administration:

  • Coordinate LCDC’s board of directors meeting calendar, board packages, minutes, and records management.
  • Support LCDC’s grant and project management.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least two years’ relevant experience and/or supervision of community programs, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish required.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects with competing deadlines; prioritize deliverables and project plans with utmost attention to quality and timeliness.
  • Demonstrated commitment to LCCU’s mission and experience working with diverse communities.
  • Daily access to transportation, along with applicable documentation of legally required automobile insurance and valid driver’s license; ability to travel independently to a variety of locations.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
