KORE1, a nationwide provider of staffing and recruiting solutions, has an immediate opening for a Regional Sales Manager: Bachelor degree, heavy BD for FDM & CPG working w/ retailers & distributors (at the HQ level)


We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to oversee and coordinate all sales activities in our Central region based in our Chicago area office. (Central region is composed of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Michigan)


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains relationships at the headquarter level with potential and existing national and regional Pet Specialty Retailers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key Pet Specialty Distributers in the Central Region. Trains and engages with distributer sales teams to build and grow our share of business.
  • Drives market strategies, brand awareness to increase sale growth and profitability.
  • Closes new sales by building rapport with potential accounts, identifying needs of product and services.
  • Works collaboratively with the USA Sales team on new sales opportunities.
  • Negotiates profitable pricing and/or terms of sales.
  • Builds and maintains a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.
  • Provides and reports sales forecasts, results, status of accounts and leads for region or division.
  • Analyze sales accounts by reviewing current and potential volumes of distributors within defined area.
  • Long term there's potential (pending fit) to move into a leadership role where you'd be charged with managing and training a regional sales team and Key Account Managers.
  • Manages expenses to stay within budgeted guidelines.
  • Keeps up-to-date with competition by gathering and researching market trends.
  • Adheres to all Company policies, procedures and business ethics and ensures compliance with their team and represents the Company in a professional manner.
  • Perform other additional duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; one in business, Marketing and Sales or related field preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in CPG (consumer packaged goods) sales calling on headquarters and retail stores.
  • With applications please include a list of the retail stores stores you sold to...including whether you were calling working with actual buyers &/or owners at the headquarter level (which is required for this role)
  • 5+ years of FDM (food, drug, mass) experience targeting grocery stores, drug stores, or mass stores like Walmart or Costco.

  • Experience partnering with distributors and knowledge of basic distributor model principles
  • Experience collaborating on product pricing / promotions (working with marketing)

  • Ability to leverage trends and data
  • Ability to build and maintain business relationships with customers.
  • Aptitude to travel daily or weekly and spend most of the day in vehicle.
  • Excellent sales and customer service skills, with proven negotiation skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented and manage multiple tasks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Aptitude to travel daily or weekly or spend most of the day in vehicle
  • Ability to commute to the office daily / travel to client sites (travel 25% of the time)
  • Must hold unrestricted driver's license and driving record that has no more than three (3) violations in the last two (2) years; no more than one (1) 'at-fault' accident in the past three (3) years.


Salary Range and Exemption Status:

Exempt - $100,000 to $125,000.00 depending on years of experience, education, and additional studies/certificates/Licenses/Degrees that pertain to the position.
