Regional Sales Manager

The Regional Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in leading sales activity within the branches of their district, while effectively managing the field sales teams within assigned districts.
This position is responsible for leading, coaching, and guiding the district sales team to ensure team success in regards to closing business and meeting district financial goals.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, training, motivating, and deploying a successful focused sales team
- Determining branch sales managers, senior account executives, and account executives strengths and assisting them in identifying their individual areas of development
- Creating sales training opportunities for branch sales managers, senior account executives, and account executives to build upon strengths and enhance areas of deficiencies
- Setting clear goals and effectively relaying those goals to the sales force
- Supporting the strategic direction of Purolator International by focusing the sales team on targeted market segments and high-yielding margin clients
- Instilling a sense of urgency while creating a team environment and ensuring accountability and recognizing success
The Regional Sales Manager will also:
- Organize frequent joint sales calls with each branch sales manager, senior account executive, and account executive while demonstrating how to build strong business relationships
- Manage the qualification and account management process through the use of a CRM system; target account process; support the sales process and development of client strategies and proposals; actively engage in identifying and closing of new business opportunities
- Work in close alignment with service quality management teams to develop service solutions to meet the needs identified for each client
- Work with the US strategic team to identify northbound opportunities from US-based offices of Canadian National Accounts
Requirements for this role include:
- A bachelor's degree in a related field preferred or equivalent work experience
- 5-10 years of sales management experience in a commercial sales environment
- Leadership abilities and the experience required to create and manage a significant part of our sales budget
- Experience leading and managing a sales team and sales budget
- Team player with a proven sales management track record
- Strong sales skills and proven success in closing new business opportunities
- Ability to travel including driving to various work and/or customer locations within the local markets, corporate HQ in New York, and Canada
