About the Role:

The Senior Credit Analyst is responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses, especially for complex transactions, in order to determine the level of risk in extending credit. This role involves interacting directly with customers and requires collaboration with various departments within the organization.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes credit data and financial statements of individuals or businesses to identify the degree of risk involved in extending credit.
  • Compares businesses in terms of liquidity, profitability, and credit worthiness.
  • Uses various software and tools to evaluate customers’ financial status and produce financial ratios.
  • Compiles information, reviews credit applications, and composes reports detailing the degree of risk involved in the credit request; recommends approval or denial based on results.
  • Sets minimum or maximum terms of repayment for customers based on earnings, payment history, and purchase activity.
  • Respond to credit and audit requests.
  • Contributes to development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively reviews, assesses, and makes recommendations to improve internal processes, with the goal of improving bottom-line operations.
  • Utilize current and new technology to implement opportunities for process improvement.
  • Performs reporting and ad-hoc analysis as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field or equivalent experience.


Required Skills:

  • Minimum three years of experience in credit and collections or risk management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
