POSITION OVERVIEW: Responsible for preparing and evaluating financial statement analyses and loan proposals for the Bank's more substantial and intricate credit applications. Assess the financial health of individuals and businesses seeking credit from the financial institution and engage in structuring their loan proposals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct and assess financial analyses utilizing the bank's software efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with lenders and Portfolio Managers to gather necessary documentation for precise credit evaluations.
  • Support the scheduling and oversight of loan covenants and policy deviations.
  • Prepare materials for and assist in or deliver loan presentations to the Loan Committee as required. Act as a non-voting member of the Loan Committee.
  • Assist Agricultural and Commercial Lenders in overseeing credit portfolios.
  • Perform collateral assessments on commercial and/or agricultural accounts.
  • Provide training and guidance to fellow credit analysts, lending personnel, and new hires as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work autonomously most of the time without supervision.
  • Contribute to the loan department and bank in achieving objectives related to profitability, growth, and loan quality.
  • Support other Credit Department staff as requested.
  • Engage in community initiatives to enhance the bank's visibility and foster new business opportunities.
  • Participate in bank-sponsored activities as outlined in the financial institution's community engagement program.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as they arise or become evident.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and other industry-specific software, with the potential to become a program expert.
  • Ability to operate in an environment handling sensitive information, maintaining a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for job-related training, workshops, and conferences.
  • Thorough understanding of various industries, credit policies, and guidelines.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment.

EDUCATION: A bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, business administration, agricultural business, or a related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or as a credit analyst is preferred.
