POSITION OVERVIEW: The role involves preparing and assessing financial statement analyses and loan proposals for the institution's more substantial and intricate credit applications. The incumbent will evaluate the financial status of individuals and enterprises seeking credit from the bank and contribute to structuring their loan applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and assess financial analyses utilizing the bank's software efficiently and accurately.
  • Collaborate with lenders and Portfolio Managers to gather essential documentation for precise credit evaluations.
  • Assist in scheduling and overseeing loan covenants and policy deviations.
  • Develop materials for and assist with or present loan proposals to the Loan Committee as required, serving as a non-voting member.
  • Support Ag/Commercial Lenders in monitoring credit portfolios.
  • Conduct collateral assessments on commercial and/or agricultural relationships.
  • Provide training and guidance to fellow credit analysts, lending personnel, and new hires as necessary.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently most of the time without supervision.
  • Contribute to the loan department and bank in achieving its objectives for profitability, growth, and loan quality.
  • Assist other personnel in the Credit Department as needed.
  • Engage in community initiatives to enhance the bank's visibility and foster new business opportunities.
  • Participate in bank-sponsored activities as outlined in the institution's community engagement program.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as they arise or become evident.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical capabilities, including the ability to identify issues, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact comfortably with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient computer skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and other industry-specific software, with the potential to become a program expert.
  • Ability to operate in an environment with sensitive information, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary for job-related training, workshops, and conferences.
  • Comprehensive understanding of various sectors, credit policies, and guidelines.
  • Capacity to exercise independent judgment.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Education: A bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, business administration, agricultural business, or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial lending or as a credit analyst is preferred.
