Job Description: The company seeks a Procurement Specialist to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the timely, cost effective and correct acquisition of components, equipment, services, and supplies in a fast moving manufacturing environment.


The ideal candidate will have practical purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting, strong attention to detail, and superior follow up – follow through skills. The candidate must also have excellent organizational, communication, and decision making skills.

Job Description: The candidate must:


  • Procure materials and services to meet the requirements providing uninterrupted flow of materials, supplies and services required for the company’s operation


  • Collaborate with Engineers to identify, research, and partner with suppliers who offer the best solution for systems


  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to monitor stock levels, ensure proper levels of stocked products, and place orders as needed


  • Receive, review, and enter all purchase requisitions and generate reports for inventory control


  • Research vendor capabilities and identify the best price for required products and materials


  • Place, track, and expedite orders ensuring timely delivery at the best price


  • Review quality of purchased products through feedback from all disciplines


  • Create and follow up on purchase orders for engineered system installations and warranty as requested


  • Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records


  • Expedite orders that are due or past due according to the needs of customers and the business.


  • Maintain vendor list and communicate regularly with vendors to maximize a positive working relationships; negotiate all contract terms of agreement & pricing


  • Perform other administrative duties as needed such as answering phones, maintaining administrative records, and maintaining orderly files


  • Display a positive, helpful attitude to help create a friendly environment for business partners and co-workers


Requirements: The candidate will:


  • Have 2+ years procurement experience; experience in manufacturing strongly preferred


  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or have comparable work experience


  • Have excellent data entry skills with strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow up skills


  • Demonstrate superior interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills


  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision


  • Be self-motivated and self-directed with a strong company focus


  • Be a dedicated, conscientious worker with a positive, “can do, will do” attitude


  • Thrive in a team environment and be a positive team player


  • Have technology and computer proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)
