The University of Rochester’s Human Resources team is seeking an Associate Director of Enterprise Change Management to lead our effort in creating a supportive, equitable, and inclusive work environment where every employee can thrive.


The Associate Director of Enterprise Change Management will be developing and executing change management plans that ensure staff are prepared for, and adopt, critical, institution-wide, Human Resources initiatives. The Associate Director of Organizational Change Management is responsible for putting a human touch to changes in business processes, systems and technologies. There is a focus on coaching HR Business Partners, unit leaders and their teams to maximize implementation success and minimize resistance to large-scale organizational change.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leads the development of thorough, enterprise-level, change management plans for critical University initiatives. This includes readiness analysis, communications strategy, coaching and training, and resistance management planning in alignment with business objectives. Participates in governance committees to ensure effective change management implementation.


  • Manages an enterprise-level change network strategy involving executive sponsors, senior leadership, HR leaders, and staff-level management whose purpose is to enhance organizational awareness related to the change.


  • Identifies and mitigates people-focused risks and issues by analyzing KPIs and potential resistance points and devising mitigation plans.


  • Collaborates with project communications and training teams to ensure precise messaging to the right audiences at the right time.


  • Collaborates with training experts to design competency-based training and learning strategies. Designs post-training reviews to ensure end-users are engaged, informed, and proficient after implementation.



QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Minimum of 5 years of enterprise-level organizational change management experience. Successful candidates should be able to demonstrate how they have designed and executed complex, multi-layered plans to address large-scale organizational change.


  • Enterprise-level change leadership within a highly matrixed, complex, large organization (10,000+ employees) is necessary. Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives through completion is also essential.


  • Change Management certification such as Prosci or CCMP preferred.



Please Note: This is a hybrid position that is in Rochester, New York. Candidates should reside in, or be in the process of relocating to, New York State.


The University is open to a hybrid work schedule, a mix of onsite and remote work, for this role. Due to the nature of the onsite work, the Associate Director must reside in New York state and be willing to commit to frequent, often weekly, travel to Rochester, NY as project needs demand.
