Position Summary


The primary role of this position is to provide 2D and 3D design support for ARY Engineering’s various industrial manufacturing clients in the Pacific Northwest. This will involve completing daily activities at ARY’s main office in Richland, Washington, and industrial production facilities across the region.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Follow all company and client safety policies and procedures. Demonstrate ownership and leadership in personal safety and the safety of others. Be actively involved in promoting and enhancing our safety culture.
  • Determine the accuracy of existing facility documentation and consolidate relevant aspects.
  • Document critical elements of existing industrial equipment and facilities (as-builts).
  • Interpret industrial equipment and facility drawings to develop precise 2D and 3D models (Digital Twin).
  • Develop conceptual 2D and 3D designs of industrial equipment to client specifications.
  • Develop conceptual 2D designs of evacuation plans to client specifications.
  • Proactively manage and communicate the status of outstanding tasks to the assigned Project Manager.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within internal processes and discuss findings with key stakeholders.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


The successful execution of this position will require close collaboration on daily activities with key stakeholders involved in engineering and design efforts at these facilities. In addition, the successful candidate in the Drafter I/II position must possess the following education, experience, and technical expertise:


Minimum Qualifications:


  • AAS in Engineering Technology (CAD) or equivalent. Relevant experience may be substituted for this requirement.
  • 0-4+ years of experience with AutoCAD
  • 0-4+ years of experience with Revit
  • 0-4+ years of experience with Microsoft Office
  • 0-4+ years of experience with Adobe Acrobat


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Familiarity with creating and working with manufacturing shop drawings.
  • Proficiency in performing quantity take-offs (as-builts).
  • Must be comfortable navigating complex industrial environments.
  • Engagement with vendors, fabricators, and internal staff for project execution.


This position will report directly to ARY Engineering’s Chief Operating Officer for all employment and company-related matters at our main office in Richland, Washington.


Physical Demands:


This position requires the physical ability to work in a traditional office environment and industrial facilities. The physical demands that can be expected are as follows:


  • Extended periods of sedentary work.
  • Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing, and lifting of up to 30 pounds.
  • Occasionally stooping, kneeling, bending, and crouching.
  • Conducting work in uncomfortable surroundings.


Compensation & Benefits:


Drafter I:

Direct hourly pay range: $30.00-$39.00*


Drafter II:

Direct hourly pay range: $39.00-$47.50*
