This is a key senior leadership role responsible for shaping and implementing our client’s strategic vision. This position involves high-level strategic planning and requires a comprehensive understanding of the energy sector, with a particular focus on clean energy and utility markets. The VP serves as a crucial link between the executive leadership team and various business units, ensuring that strategic initiatives are clearly communicated and effectively executed.


Key Responsibilities:


Organisational Leadership:

  • Team Leadership: The VP will lead a team of strategists and analysts, guiding them in their work to align with the company’s long-term goals. This involves setting clear objectives, defining roles, and ensuring that the team operates cohesively.
  • Annual Strategy Review: This involves conducting a thorough analysis of the company's performance, market trends, and competitive landscape. The VP will synthesize this information into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engaging with various business units to gather input and ensure that the strategy reflects the realities of each segment of the business.
  • Prioritization Framework: Establishing a framework for prioritizing strategic initiatives based on potential impact, resource availability, and alignment with company objectives.
  • Implementation Oversight: Working closely with executive leadership to monitor the progress of strategic initiatives, ensuring that timelines and goals are met.
  • Project Management: The VP will oversee large-scale initiatives such as mergers and acquisitions, ensuring that these projects are executed smoothly and align with the company’s strategic vision.
  • Change Management: Leading efforts to manage organizational change that accompanies strategic initiatives, ensuring that employees are engaged and informed throughout the process.

Driving Innovation

  • Market Trends: Staying abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the clean energy sector, assessing their potential impact on the company’s strategy.
  • Innovation Integration: Leading efforts to incorporate relevant innovations into the company’s strategic roadmap, ensuring the business remains competitive and forward-thinking.
  • Partnership Strategy: Developing a strategy for engaging with external partners that aligns with the company’s growth objectives.


Required experiences & Qualifications


Education:

  • Advanced Degree: A Master’s or higher in a relevant field (STEM, business) is preferred, indicating a strong analytical foundation and business acumen.

Professional Experience:

  • Industry Expertise: At least 15 years of experience in the power industry, with a focus on strategy, management consulting, or business development. This experience should include a deep understanding of the U.S. power markets, renewable energy project development, and clean energy technologies.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strategic Thinking: Exceptional ability to think critically and strategically, with a proven track record of developing and executing strategies that drive growth.
  • Communication Skills: Strong presentation and communication skills are essential for engaging with board members and executive leadership, translating complex strategies into clear, actionable insights.
