Land Administration Manager


Role Responsible for all aspects of the Company’s land administration function including the maintenance of the company’s leases (electronically, physically, and systematically), ownership interest, lease mapping, and supervision of land administration staff. In this role the Land Administration Manager will report under the direction of the VP, Accounting & Controller.


Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Oversees the land administration department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
  2. Manages and directs duties of Lease Records and Division Order Departments
  3. Interprets and manages individual contracts with lessors, surface owners, etc.
  4. Maintains ownership and sets up wells in W Energy (or other similar ERP systems)
  5. Prepares lease schedules for monthly/quarterly reporting, divestures, and other reports as needed
  6. Prepares and analyzes assignments, leases, agreements and other land related documents
  7. Manages monthly obligations process in coordination with land department
  8. Manages interactions needed form both Division Orders and Lease Records with monthly close activities, including meeting timing requirements of the accounting close schedule
  9. Monitors well status for maintaining contractual obligations
  10. Establishes effective contractor/supplier relationships and monitors their performance
  11. Communicates with lessors, royalty owners, purchasers and third parties as required

Experience and Education

  1. 12+ years of experience with Land Administration
  2. Bachelor’s degree, Oil & Gas or Business preferred, or equivalent education and experience
  3. Strong working knowledge of state and federal statutory requirements with respect to both lease records and division order functions
  4. Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic team environment

Skills

  1. Familiarity with the W Energy (fka. Waterfield) Accounting system or other similar ERP systems
  2. Excellent working knowledge Microsoft suite of products
  3. Depth on knowledge of oil & gas land contracts, legal instruments, practices and procedures
  4. Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills – both written and oral
  5. Ability to interface with Executive Management on a daily basis
  6. Ability to cope with pressure and tight deadlines and be change oriented
  7. Ability to manage staff, multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines


Salary Range: $140,000 to $185,000 depending on experience
