Maintenance Manager - Offshore Wind

The Opportunity:

The Maintenance Manager shall provide overall management of maintenance or repair activities for their assigned vessels ensuring each vessel is maintaining a safe and reliable operational status. This position is accountable for budgetary adherence and costs associated with each assigned vessel. The Maintenance Manager, as necessary, shall coordinate with Operational team members, Company Shipyard Managers, and approved vendors in support of maintenance or repair activities for their assigned vessels. This position reports directly to the Director of Marine Operations Offshore Wind.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, promote, and prioritize safety and Incident and Injury Free culture in all facets of operations and maintenance.
  • Lead the respective vessel teams in the implementation and enforcement of Reliability programs.
  • Monitor/control plant spending.
  • Work with various departments to maintain "fleet-level" spare parts inventory and critical spares quantities as set by Min/Max values.
  • Support Project or Maintenance Superintendents in performing Quality Control checks, tests, and inspections.
  • Manage and direct the Project or Maintenance Superintendents to schedule and coordinate repairs to best fit operations schedule and achieve "best value" with all repairs.
  • Coordinate with Vessel Captains & Chief Engineers to ensure wear items are properly evaluated and maintained to prevent premature failures.
  • Work with the Purchasing department to acquire all services and materials in a timely manner to maintain the fleet operational status.
  • Attend vessel repair periods working with the Dry-dock team as a technical rep for the mechanical aspects of repairs. Assist in writing specs and settling invoices for these repairs.
  • Visit the vessel, port locations and rock quarries to work with field personnel to generate and prioritize crew work lists and future repair / upgrade lists.
  • Participate in Pre & Post Project Vessel Inspections to help identify damage and or maintenance issues.

Requirements
  • 10 years' experience supporting offshore maritime vessels from a technical perspective and personnel management.
  • Marine Engineering (or equivalent technical degree), Chief Engineer & Shipyard experience preferred, OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training
  • Requires understanding of how Mechanical, Electrical, Hydraulic, equipment operate as well as general understanding of Regulatory requirements for marine vessels.
  • Strong familiarity with Dynamic Positioning systems and different types of thrusters
  • Strong familiarity with Confined Space Entry Requirements and procedures.
  • Strong ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to manage repairs or modifications on multiple systems and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced multi-task work environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, to aid in crew and subordinate management.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Suite Software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PPT, Project)
