The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall preventative maintenance, repair, and performance of general equipment in the manufacturing facility.

The Maintenance Manager is accountable for the following functions and responsibilities:

  • Manage, supervise, and direct maintenance personnel in day-to-day activities relating to productivity, attendance, punctuality, quality of service, and overall attitude.
  • Schedule work orders, equipment installations, preventative maintenance, and other miscellaneous projects.
  • Troubleshoot issues relating to machines, assets, and equipment and evaluate for repairs.
  • Work with various computer-driven reports to manage tracking, capacity, and delivery of maintenance goals.
  • Purchase/maintain required inventory of equipment, spare parts, and materials/supplies for the maintenance department.
  • Monitor the performance of general equipment and notify management and vendors when malfunctions occur.
  • Lead calibration on industrial mixers, winders, and creels to ensure that the equipment is always working properly.
  • Schedule routine and repair services for forklifts, overhead doors, compressors, Graco dispensing machines, HVAC system, and electrical system as needed.
  • Schedule/coordinate any required services in response to maintenance emergencies.
  • Train and certify company personnel on proper forklift operation.
  • Create/revise procedures and processes as needed.
  • Perform the functions and responsibilities of subordinate roles as and when needed.
  • Always perform job tasks in a safe manner while adhering to the company safety policies.
  • Maintain required attendance and punctuality as scheduled to meet production goals.
  • Manage a clean and productive workstation.
  • Perform other functions and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

The Maintenance Manager must at a minimum possess the following:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two plus years of experience in a manufacturing setting in a maintenance role.
  • One or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Intermediate level Microsoft Office Suite/computer knowledge.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, high-pressured, and fast-paced environment while following instructions.
  • Ability to comprehend production requirements.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write the English language fluently, is preferred.
  • Cognitive skills to include the ability to learn, to process thoughts and apply knowledge, to analyze and reason, and to evaluate and make appropriate decisions to achieve business goals and solve problems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The Maintenance Manager must be able to:

  • Operate basic office machines, such as a computer, copy machine, fax, scanner, etc.
  • Lift a minimum of 50lbs., repeatedly, without assistance and up to 100lbs with assistance.
  • Push/pull heavy objects with the proper equipment.
  • Cardiorespiratory: Have average to above-average cardiorespiratory fitness* to perform the essential tasks of this job safely. Must be able to safely tolerate significant demands on the cardiorespiratory system related to working in hot and humid environments, climbing stairs, and occasionally lifting heavy items.

*Cardiorespiratory demands vary depending on speed/rate of activity, environmental influences (i.e., temperature, humidity, etc.) body weight, external weight/forces, age, and level of fitness of employee.

  • Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment when required (i.e., safety glasses or side shields, steel-toe footwear, etc.).
  • Stand for long periods of time, up to 8-12 hours a day.
