Full Time, 40 hours per week Hybrid (combination of telework and in-person work) Monday - Friday Location: 450 Columbus Boulevard in Hartford Schedule may include nights and weekends. THE ROLE The Drug Control Division oversees compliance and enforcement of all laws and regulations concerning the sale and distribution of drugs within Connecticut. We are responsible for the administration, compliance and enforcement of the state's Prescription Monitoring Program, Medical Marijuana Program, and Adult Use Cannabis Program. This includes all pharmacy inspections, auditing of different organizations within each program, investigations of health care professionals for improper prescription, diversion and misuse of controlled substance medications and issuance of all license types associated with the drug industry. The State Program Manager (Pharmacy) will be responsible for:
Directing staff and operations of the division at the direction of the Drug Control Division Director. Assisting in the coordination, planning and management of division activities. Assisting and provide input in the development of related policy. Interpreting and administers pertinent laws. Evaluating staff and coordinating with the Human Resources Department as needed. Evaluating the current usage of the current software systems utilized by the Department and develop new applications. Reviewing new enhancements to the software used by the Department and implement them to across the software used. Working with code to ensure that the license applications are functional and timely. Evaluating pertinent statutes and regulations to ensure that the proper information is obtained from applications. Developing manuals and procedures for how the applications perform. Working with other agencies in the development of agreements for the purpose of data sharing. Attending meetings and conferences with or in place of the Director. Other related duties as required. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE

Nine (9) years of professional experience.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE

One (1) year of the General Experience must have been in the specific area of assignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED

College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equalling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree. A Master's degree in business administration, public administration or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) additional year of the General Experience. Department of Labor: Two (2) years of experience as an Apprenticeship and Training Program Manager may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience working with stakeholders to collaborate on a final product. Experience researching a topic and compiling data to provide information to stakeholders. Experience managing a team within a union workforce environment. Experience managing a team within the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry Experience with the logistics and operations of community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry.
