Overview

The State of Connecticut is seeking a dedicated professional to serve as the SNAP Program Administrator. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the strategic oversight and management of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) within the state. Your leadership will guide a team of policy experts and facilitate collaboration with both state and federal stakeholders to shape food policy initiatives that benefit our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the SNAP team, ensuring a focus on eligibility, employment, training, and nutrition education outreach.
  • Develop and implement innovative policies and regulations to improve program effectiveness and compliance.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of complex policy matters, providing informed recommendations and solutions.
  • Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements across programs to enhance integrity and performance.
  • Lead and mentor program administrative staff, aligning daily operations with strategic objectives and compliance requirements.

Position Details

  • Hybrid work environment with telework options available.
  • Standard work schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess significant experience in social services program delivery, with a minimum of nine years in the field. At least one year of this experience should be in a managerial or consultative capacity, overseeing programmatic and administrative responsibilities.
