Job Summary:

The State Program Manager will oversee the regulatory affairs program within the department, reporting to the Director of Policy and Strategic Initiatives. This role will involve managing a team of staff, coordinating program activities, and developing policies and regulations to support the department's mission.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the regulatory affairs program, including developing and implementing policies and regulations
  • Lead a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure successful program implementation
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, providing guidance and support to staff as needed
Requirements:
  • 9 years of professional experience, with at least 1 year in the specific area of assignment
  • Considerable knowledge of management principles and practices, relevant state and federal laws, and project management
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to analyze organizational problems and determine effective solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience interpreting state and federal law and writing responsive regulations
  • Experience working with program areas to understand their work and develop or write regulations that are responsive to their work and the guiding statutory and federal law
  • Experience working in a position with a legal background, such as a paralegal, lawyer, or other law-related field
