The Role

The HR Coordinator provides administrative support for the HR department by maintaining employee records, coordinating onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and pre-employment screenings, and ensuring policy compliance. This role provides the opportunity to lend your experience and skills to our department‘s continued growth.

Work You‘ll Do

  • Provides day-to-day administrative support for various people processes (onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, etc.)
  • Maintains employee records
  • Provides support for HR policies /procedures and timelines; ensures compliance
  • Coordinates background screening requirements for new employees and as client needs arise
  • Coordinates new employee orientations and other HR training programs as applicable
  • Completes Forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation, and maintains I-9 files
  • Assists with coordination of performance review process for company to ensure process runs smoothly
  • Manages buddy program to help acclimate new hires into the organization
  • Performs customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
  • Drafts offer letters and subcontractor onboarding documents
  • Assists with employee immigration cases
  • Makes photocopies; mails, scans, and emails documents; and performs other clerical functions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor‘s degree required
  • Internship or professional work experience in a Human Resources role
  • Excellent time management, organization skills, and attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential and sensitive information
  • Applicants must be based in Chicago, IL and flexible to work from our Chicago office as needed
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

  • 1 - 2 year(s) of experience in a related Human Resources role
  • Bachelor‘s degree in Human Resources
  • Experience in a professional services firm
