Job Overview

We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to join our fast-growing general contracting company in Long Island City, NY. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing HR-related tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive workplace environment.

Responsibilities
  • Manage all HR-related tasks, including onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws, as well as company policies.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, screening, and coordinating interviews.
  • Develop employee engagement programs to promote a positive and productive workplace culture.
  • Address employee concerns and provide guidance on HR-related issues.
  • Assist with training and development programs to support employee growth.
  • Manage time-off requests and attendance tracking systems.
  • Collaborate with ownership and senior management to align HR practices with company goals.
Qualifications
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of human resources experience.
  • Proven experience in an HR role, preferably in the construction or contracting industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits
