Senior Payroll Manager

Seeking a Sr. Payroll Manager to manage and actively participate in the payroll processing cycle ensuring timely, accurate, efficient, and consistent processes. The role involves overseeing bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processes, analyzing payroll-related data, managing payroll analysts, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The position also requires collaboration with HR and accounting departments to assist with audits and other compliance matters, as well as updating payroll processes and addressing employee compensation inquiries.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Workday bi-weekly and off-cycle payroll processes to ensure timely, accurate and efficient processing of payroll transactions including employee compensation, LOA's, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
  • Analyze related payroll/benefits data, review Workday reports, and provide documentation per audit requirements.
  • Manage payroll analysts and provide training, coaching and review of their payroll analyses.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting and assist with audits and other compliance matters.
  • Ensure processing of payroll updates, new hires, terminations, changes to pay rates, and stock transactions (NQ, RSU, PSU), as needed.
  • Review/update payroll processes and procedures, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and related employment laws and best practices.
  • Address employee inquiries regarding compensation.
  • Ensure SOX compliance with internal control policies.
  • Perform other related functions and ad hoc projects, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • WorkDay Payroll experience required
  • Advanced Excel skills- pivot tables, vlookups
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 7+ years of related experience; or Master's degree in related discipline and 5+ years of related experience
  • Relevant certifications such as CPP, CPM, PCP preferred
  • Experience in multi-state payroll processing for 1,000+ employees.
  • Experience using Workday Payroll and analyzing/reviewing Workday payroll reports.
  • Demonstrated ownership, problem-solving and analytical skills (using Microsoft Excel).
  • Familiarity with payroll regulations and tax law in multiple state
