ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

As the Senior Manager of the Engineering Program Management Office (PMO), you will lead the Engineering Program Managers and work with Wind River's Engineering and Product Management teams to drive delivery across a broad range of products, projects, and initiatives. Your work will directly impact our company's velocity, agility, and market penetration. The Senior Manager, PMO will play a pivotal role in driving predictability and agility across engineering, creating supporting process infrastructure, and ensuring engineering commitments are consistently met.

The successful candidate will work with nearly all groups within Wind River, including other parts of the Engineering Leadership Team and Product management as products and initiatives are shepherded from inception to delivery. This includes supporting existing in-flight programs and driving new initiatives.

This position will report to the Senior Director of Engineering Excellence and Shared Services.

Interface & Collaboration

  • The successful candidate will work and collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure high levels of process awareness and a compliance-driven mindset.
  • Drive transformation of product development to the next level of Agile, LEAN, CI/CD execution in a way that is optimized for Wind River
  • Managing a team of Engineering Program Managers (EPM), including performance assessment and career development through a transformational period
  • Enable EPM team to program manage in an Agile world and become Agile Champions for the organization
  • Drive and lead cross-product group release planning, execution, and status reporting
  • Drive schedule and content commitment between Engineering and Product Management for cross-product releases
  • Identify and resolve impediments, risks, dependencies, and scope changes for cross-product releases
  • Maintain engagement with business teams, product owners, and technical leads to ensure strategy and execution alignment for cross-product releases
  • Ensure that all stakeholders are well informed of the objective, scope, timelines, status, risks, and issues of the planned deliverables for engineering
  • Create an environment allowing mutual influence, collaboration, and self-organization
  • Drive continuous improvement across all engineering teams in conjunction with the EPM team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Solid experience in leading a Program Management Office (PMO) with 5+ years of program management experience, in a cloud, SAAS, or embedded software environment
  • Experience leading cross-product transformation with Agile, LEAN, and CI/CD expertise
  • Strong understanding of other methodologies such as waterfall
  • Practical experience using agile techniques and frameworks, such as Scrum, and Kanban, to deliver software solutions.
  • Must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities in previous positions with the ability to influence others
  • Must have 5+ years of people management experience
  • Must be a collaborative and strong team player
  • Individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Nice to have PMI-ACP certification.
  • Nice to have Agile Product Owner or Scrum Master certifications (PSPO, CSPO, POPM, CSM, SAFe SPC, etc.).
  • In-depth working knowledge of Jira and Confluence

Compensation

The annual base salary range for this role's listed grade level is currently $ to $ plus a bonus for Colorado, New York, and New Jersey residents, and $179,200 to $235,000 plus a bonus for SF Bay Area, Greater Seattle, NYC, and Washington, DC, residents. Salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of the education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities of the applicant, and equity with other team members. Employees in this role are also eligible for the following benefits in accordance with the terms of the Company's plans: health, dental, vision insurance, life insurance, flex time off, eligibility to enroll in 401k, and 12 paid holidays.
