Excelsior General Agency is seeking a Regional Sales Manager to play a key role in leading small group and specialty sales within a specific region. Responsibilities include recruiting brokers, driving business growth, and achieving sales targets.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Promote Excelsior's product range to benefits brokers, assisting them in expanding enrollments and average case sizes across all product categories
  • Skills in negotiating and closing sales
  • Deliver comprehensive market presentations to brokers and employers
  • Develop and implement strategies for top-performing agencies and brokers
  • Collaborate with Sales Management on pipeline, persistency, and market objectives, devising competitive strategies with specific brokers/agencies
  • Educate sales support on quoting plan designs and product pre-implementation
  • Expectation to be in the field for 51% or more of your time
  • Essential time management skills for success
  • Establish strong relationships with carrier partners through active collaboration and in-depth product knowledge and advice

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active sales insurance license(s) as required by state law in residential and non-residential states within your territory
  • 4+ years of experience in Small Group sales or Account Management for Medical or Specialty Benefits
  • At least 2 years of negotiation experience
  • At least 2 years of building and maintaining strong client and producer relationships with a customer-centric approach

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of underwriting, financial, and analytical experience
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all products in the market segment, including competitors' offerings; ability to recommend products based on customer needs
  • Existing relationships with brokers and consultants in the market
  • Proficiency in relationship building and influencing
  • Excellent presentation skills
