Senior Civil/Structural DesignerJob Description:
Under direct supervision, independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. With additional experience within one functional area, assists in the design of larger and more complex assignments which involve conventional types of plans, investigations and surveys with relatively few complex features for which there are precedents. Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability or operations.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a team to prepare construction quality documentation for structural engineering design projects.
- Populate 3D model with structural details.
- Interface with other engineering discipline functions.
- Interpret vendor drawings.
- Work to schedule.
- Site trips to take field measurements and attend meetings.
Requirements/Qualifications
- 8+ years of professional experience working in a team setting as a designer.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to multitask between project assignments
Preferred Computer skills
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation
Education
- Skills are typically acquired through an Associate's Degree in Engineering and minimum of 2 years related experience, or experience ranging from 3-7 years.
