Chief Structural Engineering Specialist

Position Overview
In this role, you will operate under general supervision, overseeing and guiding a team of engineers and designers while stationed at the home office.
Key Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include providing technical leadership to a team of 2-15 professionals, focusing on coaching and developing junior engineering and design staff.
You will manage the planning, budgeting, organization, and oversight of a comprehensive engineering program, which may encompass projects with budgets up to $200 million. This role requires accountability for all measurable assets, including staff assignments, project timelines, budget management, and work estimates.
Technical Duties
- Review and ensure the technical accuracy of structural drawings for steel and concrete constructions.
- Conduct structural calculations related to steel and concrete.
- Design conceptual and final foundation systems, including spread footings, piles, and drilled shafts.
- Develop construction specifications.
- Provide technical assistance during the construction phase for all structural-related activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within six months of employment.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in structural engineering.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead a small to medium-sized team to meet project commitments.
- Experience in virtual team collaboration to support interoffice execution with minimal supervision.
