About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Events, the Director of Event Services is responsible for the planning, support, and execution of both digital and physical events. While this role will assist with all aspects of the event lifecycle, its primary focus is leading the team responsible for delivering first-touch experiences for global events worldwide, including both the pre-event and onsite execution of content operations and speaker services, registration and attendee management, and demo operations and services. This position will have a vested interest in more than simply planning an event, but in embracing the latest standard methodologies and interactive tools to build meaningful customer engagement. The individual hired for this role will bring a history of successful people management, as well as end-to-end event delivery and an understanding of the systems and processes vital to building a world-class event experience in both the digital and physical spaces.

Ideally, you bring an understanding of front-of-house event engagement and program leadership – including the strategic delivery of registration and content and demo operations services - for a major cloud infrastructure and/or applications provider, driving customer and partner engagement across a number of enterprise technology services. You have outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal, and a high degree of emotional intelligence. You are able to balance the needs of your team and their objectives with a data-driven approach to process development and execution amid ever-evolving business requirements. You operate best in a collaborative environment as part of a large, remote team, driving success through relationship-building, empathy and creative problem-solving. You have excellent organizational and analytical skills, operating effectively with a variety of deadlines and personalities. You are an exceptional presenter and a great listener, with the executive presence required to balance ambitious priorities, while ensuring the success of the program on behalf of our attendees.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of outstanding content operations, registration, and other front-of-house event professionals, while supporting and innovating upon the global event service infrastructure across platforms and programs
  • Guide the team as it scales to grow these services across the global event portfolio, providing support to not only corporate flagship programming, but regional, industry and 3rd party programming as well.
  • Drive the event content and demo operations team in their development of the learning infrastructure onsite and off, aligning to the broader organization's goals and objectives, while showing strength in cross-functional project management and delivering outstanding event experiences for customers and partners
  • Lead the event registration team in their growth and ongoing development of best-in-class registration experiences, as well as ensure that all processes and workflows follow Oracle's compliance, ethics and legal guidelines end to end
  • Lead agency partners through event development and delivery, ensuring scalability and efficiency across a number of programs through smart, documented resourcing practices, while ensuring compliance with Oracle policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership in all aspects of planning and executing global events, including strategic event planning, platform management, collaborative development of event content and coordination of speakers, as well as the alignment of production and operations requirements onsite and off as required by the project
  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative working relationships with your team and support them in doing the same with colleagues, key stakeholders, executives, and vendors across the globe
  • Prepare, present and drive consensus around a concise, data-driven vision for Event Services with each event program or series managed by the global event portfolio, and manage a consistent drumbeat of communication that aligns all stakeholders to program requirements and updates, folding into all outbound and internal communications workflows as necessary

Skills & Qualifications

  • years of experience in building cohesive event experiences – from ideation to execution – in a complex, cross-functional B2B environment. The focus of that work must in part be on content strategy and operations, registration, demo development and operations, and other first-touch experiences, demonstrating an ability to leverage data and event feedback to build a compelling and relevant experience, present and drive consensus among senior leaders, and drive a disciplined, collaborative process that ensures alignment across lines of business
  • 5-7+ years of managing cross-functional event teams with a history of developing a cohesive, data-driven vision for front-of-house services, as well as building an inclusive, motivating team culture, and ensuring a consistent, collaborative approach to aligning multifaceted business priorities with event objectives
  • Passion for taking calculated risks, while driving consensus across teams
  • Function naturally as part of large, sophisticated virtual team
  • Excel at balancing the broader strategic picture with day-to-day execution

This position can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada and will require some domestic and international travel (roughly 25% of each year).

US: Hiring Range: from $120,100 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
