Sr. Software Development Engineer - Surgical Robotics (Cambridge, MA)

Your role:
  • Collaborate with a diverse and skilled medical robotics R&D team focused on creating and launching advanced medical solutions for Philips' Image Guided Therapies sector.
  • Design and deploy both prototype and production-ready software solutions for the development of a cutting-edge medical robot system in an FDA-regulated setting.
  • Concentrate on enhancing the robot system software framework and implementing algorithms for multi-arm robot control.
  • Engage in leading or participating in software architecture conversations and code evaluations (internally and cross-functionally) for robotic solutions and workflows; and adhere to quality & regulatory procedures.
  • Contribute to the R&D labs at the Philips Innovation Campus in Cambridge Massachusetts.
You're the ideal candidate if:
  • You possess over 5 years of professional background in software development for medical apparatus, especially in the realm of medical robots.
  • Your proficiencies span C++, Python; with practical experience in designing, developing, and debugging embedded software, as well as hardware-in-the-loop systems; implementing signal processing algorithms; creating integrated applications with multiple processes; utilizing Unit Testing and software Verification and Validation processes; crafting real-time software applications on RTOS; expertise in robotic control system design, integration, debugging, verification, and testing would be a plus.
  • You hold a MS or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • You are a self-driven individual with strong organizational and time management abilities; displaying a keen interest in acquiring new skills and adapting to technological advancements and challenges. You thrive in a fast-paced professional setting that requires both independent work and teamwork using agile methodologies. Additionally, possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills for seamless interactions across various disciplines, such as engineers, product managers, and clinical experts.
  • You should be capable of fulfilling the minimum Physical, Cognitive, and Environmental job requisites outlined for this position.
