The Role

We are seeking an experienced, creative, and talented Senior Software Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software and product development, with the ability to lead projects and communicate effectively across teams and with ML researchers. In this role, you will:

  • Act as a single-threaded leader for both front-end and back-end application development.
  • Design system architecture for quickly moving, AI enabled back-end components.
  • Contribute to User Interface design and participate in customer feedback.
  • Work with ML researchers to translate PoCs into production application code.
  • Manage the application development lifecycle including implementing Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery best practices.
  • Leverage AWS cloud infrastructure for scalable and efficient deployment of AI models.
  • Uphold high standards of data security and compliance across all applications.

Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in software development with a proven track record of successful project leadership and application architecture. Experience building and scaling consumer-facing or large internal applications is essential.
  • Cloud and Infrastructure: Extensive experience with AWS services, including but not limited to EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and AWS CLI. Knowledge of managing scalable cloud infrastructure, leveraging AWS for efficient deployment of AI models.
  • Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in Python, or other relevant programming languages for application development.
  • System Architecture: Demonstrated ability in designing robust system architectures for high-availability applications. Experience with microservices and serverless architectures is highly desirable.
  • DevOps Tools: Proficiency in using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS container services (EKS, ECS). Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices to ensure smooth deployment and operations.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with cross-functional teams, including ML researchers and product managers. Ability to translate complex technical details into clear business implications.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of handling high-pressure situations and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Security and Compliance: Deep understanding of data security, privacy laws, and compliance requirements applicable to software development, particularly in AI-driven applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Front-End Development: Advanced experience with front-end technologies, particularly React, JavaScript, and , with a strong understanding of building intuitive user interfaces.
  • Database Management: Proficiency in using MongoDB for database solutions, with a focus on scalability and design optimization.
  • Software as a Service (SaaS): Experience in developing and managing SaaS applications, with an emphasis on scalable architecture and customer-driven design.
  • API Development: Strong capability in API development with frameworks such as FastAPI and Flask, with a focus on building robust, secure, and efficient web services.
  • AWS Expertise: AWS Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional highly regarded.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Ability to build and manage cloud infrastructure using the AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK), enhancing automation and consistency across environments.
  • Security Practices: In-depth knowledge of security best practices and compliance standards for SaaS applications, ensuring data integrity and protection across all platforms.
