Job Description:

Accurately and efficiently assembles/tests a variety of complex products to achieve customer quality and on‐time delivery schedules. Works on products that contain mechanical, electronic, and dual hydraulic systems. Works with multiple part families. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Works independently with minimum supervisory guidance.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform complex assembly/test functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, test equipment, assembly fixtures, and inspection measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment.
  • Set up complex test equipment on a variety of products to measure and record valve or system conformance to test specifications.
  • Set up test stands with appropriate plumbing for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic tests from required product test specifications.
  • Verify accuracy of test stand and set‐up prior to testing and makes necessary adjustments to attain specified test results.
  • Trouble shoot and resolve most set up problems independently.
  • Conduct tests using common and/or computerized data acquisition equipment and interprets/records test results on data forms.
  • Use X‐Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and other related equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and rework malfunctions disclosed by test data independently.
  • Verify new production assembly and test procedures and recommends processes to achieve desired results.
  • Perform diagnostic teardown and rebuilding of product, including evaluation of suitability of components, according to customer specifications.
  • Produce and inspect assemblies that conform to product specifications.
  • Assemble, test, and/or solder to customer and/or industry standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
  • Actively lead lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
  • Interface with support functions to solve product problems and conduct work according to business contract.
  • May perform machining operations related to product acceptance procedures (i.e. pre‐/re‐trim).
  • May travel to the customer to research, identify, and repair product failures.
  • Could be expected to travel to acquired company to support product integration.
  • May perform inspection tasks as required to gather dimensional values, utilizing high resolution measuring instrumentation.
  • Observe all safety rules and maintain a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.
  • Conduct training of less experienced team members.
  • May perform other related responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • 7+ years direct industry related experience in both assembly/test in a high technology manufacturing environment.
  • May require specialized certification specific to division requirements (i.e. certified operator, FAA repair license, soldering certification)

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Must be U.S Citizen
  • Able to work independently with limited supervisory guidance.
  • Demonstrate a broad and comprehensive understanding of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, or fuel products involving electronics, dual systems, and multiple part families.
  • Possess extensive historical knowledge of product and process situations normally encountered.
  • Able to research problems and develop solutions, incorporating multiple variables, to successfully repair products to serviceable condition.
  • Must be able to set up test fixtures independently.
  • Able to adapt to procedures, techniques, and/or processes to meet special needs on varied assignments.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
  • Perform semi‐complex mathematical calculations
  • Effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
  • Excellent mechanical reasoning.
  • Hydraulic and/or electrical background required.
  • Measurement conversion and fluids theory knowledge required for test applications.
  • Leakage, flow, friction, and pressure knowledge required.
  • Able to implement and effectively apply lean initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource to other team members and assist in training efforts.
  • Possess effective interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment on research and solution development.
  • Able to interpret reports and use standard business software applications.
  • Able to use employee self‐service system to access on‐line information and use specialized automated systems (i.e. PMR,TORS, e‐mail).

Responsabilidades:

  • Realizar funciones complejas de ensamblaje y prueba utilizando habilidades mecánicas, herramientas manuales y eléctricas, herramientas mecánicas y electrónicas, equipos de prueba, accesorios de ensamblaje y equipos de medición de inspección en un entorno de fabricación.
  • Configurar equipos de prueba complejos en una variedad de productos para medir y registrar la conformidad de la válvula o el sistema con las especificaciones de prueba.
  • Configurar bancos de prueba con la plomería adecuada para pruebas hidráulicas, neumáticas, de combustible y criogénicas según las especificaciones de prueba del producto requeridas.

  • Solucionar y resolver la mayoría de los problemas de configuración de forma independiente.

  • Utilizar registradores X-Y, osciloscopios, transductores y otros equipos relacionados.
  • Solucionar problemas y rehacer las fallas detectadas por los datos de prueba de forma independiente.
  • Verificar nuevos procedimientos de ensamblaje y prueba de producción y recomendar procesos para lograr los resultados deseados.
  • Realizar el desmontaje y reconstrucción de diagnóstico del producto, incluida la evaluación de la idoneidad de los componentes, de acuerdo con las especificaciones del cliente.
  • Producir e inspeccionar conjuntos que cumplan con las especificaciones del producto.
  • Ensamblar, probar y/o soldar según los estándares del cliente y/o de la industria.
  • Interpretar planos, órdenes de ingeniería, rutas de ensamblaje, especificaciones de prueba, boletines de servicio, requisitos del cliente y directivas de calidad.
  • Liderar activamente las iniciativas lean identificando y brindando sugerencias sobre áreas de mejora.
  • Interactuar con las funciones de soporte para resolver problemas del producto y realizar el trabajo de acuerdo con el contrato comercial.
  • Puede realizar operaciones de mecanizado relacionadas con los procedimientos de aceptación del producto (es decir, precorte/recorte).
  • Puede viajar al cliente para investigar, identificar y reparar fallas del producto.
