Position Overview:

The Assembler/Tester Technician is responsible for the precise and efficient assembly and testing of a diverse range of intricate products, ensuring adherence to customer quality standards and timely delivery. This role involves working with products that integrate mechanical, electronic, and dual hydraulic systems, while engaging with various part families. The technician plays a vital role in lean initiatives aimed at enhancing productivity and minimizing costs, operating independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

- Execute complex assembly and testing tasks utilizing mechanical skills and a variety of tools, including hand and power tools, mechanical/electronic tools, and testing equipment in a manufacturing setting.
- Set up sophisticated testing apparatus for a range of products to assess and document compliance with test specifications. This includes configuring test stands with the necessary plumbing for hydraulic, pneumatic, fuel, and cryogenic evaluations based on product testing criteria.
- Ensure the accuracy of test setups prior to conducting tests, making necessary adjustments to achieve specified outcomes. Independently troubleshoot and resolve setup issues.
- Conduct tests using standard and computerized data acquisition systems (e.g., Labview), interpreting and recording results accurately. Utilize X-Y recorders, oscilloscopes, transducers, and related equipment. Diagnose and rectify malfunctions identified through test data independently.
- Validate new production assembly and testing procedures, proposing enhancements to meet desired outcomes.
- Perform diagnostic disassembly and reassembly of products, assessing component suitability according to specifications.
- Produce and inspect assemblies that meet product specifications, ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.
- Interpret technical documents, including blueprints, engineering orders, assembly instructions, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality guidelines.
- Lead lean initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities and providing actionable suggestions.
- Collaborate with support teams to resolve product issues and ensure compliance with business contracts.
- May conduct machining operations related to product acceptance processes.
- Potential travel to client sites for product failure analysis and repair, as well as to support product integration efforts.
- Perform inspection tasks as necessary to gather dimensional data using high-resolution measuring instruments.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, foreign object damage (FOD) free workspace. Ensure all equipment is calibrated according to the calibration schedule. Mentor less experienced team members.
- Undertake additional related responsibilities as required.

Qualifications and Education:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in assembly and testing within a high-tech manufacturing environment, demonstrating the ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Familiarity with Parker Aerospace products is preferred.
- Comprehensive understanding of complex hydraulic, pneumatic, or fuel products, including electronics and dual systems across multiple part families.
- Extensive historical knowledge of product and process challenges typically encountered.
- Ability to research issues and develop solutions, considering multiple variables to effectively restore products to serviceable condition.
- Capable of independently setting up test fixtures as required. Adaptable to procedures and techniques to meet unique project needs.
- Proficient in interpreting blueprints, route sheets, and test specifications.
- Competent in performing semi-complex mathematical calculations and demonstrating effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills.
- Strong mechanical reasoning skills, with a background in hydraulics and/or electronics. Knowledge of measurement conversion and fluid theory essential for testing applications. Understanding of leakage, flow, friction, and pressure principles is required.
- Proven ability to implement and apply lean initiatives effectively.
- Serve as a resource for team members and assist in training initiatives. Possess strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team environment for research and solution development.
- Proficient in interpreting reports and utilizing standard business software applications. Familiarity with employee self-service systems for accessing online information and using specialized automated systems.
- May require specific certifications based on division needs (e.g., Certified operator, FAA repair license, soldering certification).
- Ability to demonstrate team member competencies and engage in goal setting, performance feedback, and self-development activities.

Compensation:

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00 to $38.00, with the final offer dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided in accordance with applicable laws and reflects market conditions.
